Specimen Requirements
Preferred:
Container/Tube: Green cap-yellow ring Top (Lithium Heparin Gel) tube
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL
Collection Instructions: Centrifuge within 2 hours. Plasma for a trough level should be drawn just prior to next dose and for a peak level 30 minutes after completion of infusion of an intravenous dose. If dosage and dosing information are provided, they will be included on report to enhance clinical interpretation.

Container/Tube: Plain, Red Top or Serum gel (SST-Gel) tube
Reference Values
Peak therapeutic range: 4.0-10.0 µg/mL
Trough therapeutic range: 0.5-2.0 µg/mL
Alarm value (automatic call-back): >11.90 µg/mL
Specimen Stability
Refrigerate: 48 hours
Frozen: aliquot for longer storage
