Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube: Sterile screw-capped container, capped syringe or swab
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL 
Collection Instructions: Swabs are acceptable only if biopsy or aspirate is not obtainable. If used, they must be placed in transport medium (Amies or Stuarts). Negative results are not reliable.
Send specimen refrigerated. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.
Note:  Specimen source is required.
