Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube: Aptima™ Multitest Swab Specimen Collection Kit
Collection Instructions: 
1. Carefully insert the swab into the vagina aproximately 2 inches (5 cm) and gently rotate the swab for 10 to 30 seconds.Make sure the swab touches the walls of the vagina so that moisture is absorbed by the swab.

2. Withdraw the swab without touching the skin.
3. Place swab in Aptima™ transport tube.
4. Label tube with patient’s name (first and last), date of birth or medical record number, date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.
