Specimen Requirements
Preferred:
Container/Tube: Green cap-yellow ring Top (Lithium Heparin Gel) tube
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL
Collection Instructions: Plasma/serum for a peak level should be drawn 30 minutes to 2 hours after infusion. Centrifuge within 2 hours.
Also Acceptable:
Container/Tube: Plain, Red Top or Serum gel (SST-Gel) tube
Note: 1. If dosage and dosing information are provided, they will be included on report to enhance clinical interpretation.
Reference Values
Peak therapeutic range: 30.0-40.0 µg/mL
Trough therapeutic range: 5.0-10.0 µg/mL
Alarm values (automatic call-back):>40.0µg/mL
Specimen Stability
Ambient: 8 hours
Refrigerate: 48 hours
Frozen: aliquot for longer storage
